I LOVE CAMBODIA MEDICAL CARE
SOMNANG CHHORN is an orphan who have come to lived and received daily care at NHO-Sihanouk Ville Children's Home since young. This young man after finished high school, he moved to live in NHO-Phnom Penh's Children's Home to further his education.
While he is in Phnom Penh, he got a chance to involve with the garbage dump ministry. During ministering to the unprivileged children on the garbage dump, he found himself useful and said himself that " I want to be a doctor". I have nothing to give those children physically but I can give them the right healthy check up and right prescription. So that those people will stay healthy. From that time, he got a vision from the Lord to serve the unprivileged. Then, he applied for the medical school. Today he is a year four student at the University Health of Science, Cambodia.
This young man really hold on to his dream and the vision God gave to him. He lead a first medical team, medical students and volunteers, to a remote poor village near to Vietnam border. He really enjoy his first mission. He and the teamwork has treated approximately 100 patients per day. Those unprivileged are very thankful for the medical team. The word of appreciation from the patient said “No body care about our health but Christian.” this appreciation really encourage the team to do more and looking forward to go back to that village again.
This year 2013, SOMNANG and teamwork have planed their service to serve the family of New Hope for Orphans Organization. Those will be orphaned, abandoned children, staffs and neighbors of the 12 children’s home of New Hope for Orphans Organization. The name of the project is I Love Cambodia Medical Care. It is going to be a year project. This one year project will target the 12 children’s home of N.H.O. It will focus on health check up and treatment, dental care, teaching hygiene and file up the health record of an individual child for the next follow up.
